The XIX Symposium of Intelligent Electrical Networks addresses the technologies at the service of the network of the future for industrial electrification

JIEEC 2026 will bring together representatives from electricity companies, equipment manufacturers, engineering, technology agents and public institutions to understand the key role of electricity networks in the competitive decarbonization of the industry. The conference, which will take place this year on October 8 at BAT/ B Accelerator Tower, (Bilbao) from 9:00 a.m. to 5:15 p.m., and free of charge upon registration, will be a technical and strategic meeting, aimed at making decisions to identify and take advantage of the opportunities generated by smart grids and the electrification of industry and the economy.

It will start with the presentation of the transformer project Grid4Industry, within the Euskadi 2030 Industry Plan, and will move towards the identification of innovative technological solutions, including intelligent line and substation designs, advanced power electronics and equipment and solutions for more resilient and sustainable networks.

Throughout the meeting, digitalization will take center stage with digitized substations, artificial intelligence and protection and cybersecurity solutions for a more efficient and secure operation of networks.

The event will end with one of the great challenges of the energy system, the integration of storage and the increase of the flexibility of the networks. Technologies, business models and opportunities for the industry to participate actively in the new electricity market will be analyzed.

In addition to representatives of utilities, equipment manufacturers, technologists and administrations, the day will include a selection of innovative startups and SMEs that in a pitch format will present their value proposals, from the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
