Some companies use the image of the Basque Energy Agency (EVE) and the Basque Government to promote non-existent offers
The Basque Energy Agency has submitted a complaint to the Basque Police – Ertzaintza for the repeated appearance of advertising messages supplanting the identity of the energy agency of the Basque Government to offer energy facilities with associated public aid.
These facts have been detected in different municipalities of the Basque Country during the summer, until October 2024. Inspection offers have also been made for the installation of renewable energy sources, and they were awarded a subsidy on behalf of the Basque Energy Agency. This unauthorized advertising campaign was attached to the EVE and contained the logo of the Basque Government.
The Basque Energy Agency has not signed any cooperation agreement with the companies that install renewable sources for the carrying out of audits and the installation of renewable sources. Public aid programmes are open to all installations in the Basque Country and can be supported in the strict order of receipt of applications. Installing companies can therefore operate in the free competition market, but under no circumstances should their campaigns and one-off offers be linked to public programmes managed by the EVE.
