The result is BIOGAS, which can be harnessed for energy purposes thanks to its high methane content.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>At dumpsites, biogas is produced spontaneously from the municipal solid waste (MSW) which is decomposed by the bacteria.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>This process of anaerobic digestion can also be carried out under controlled conditions, in vessels known as \u201cdigesters\u201d. These systems use waste with a high percentage of organic matter, such as manure from livestock farms.<\/p>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n<div class=\"row m-t-40\">\r\n<div class=\"col-md-6 align-self-center\"><img alt=\"\" data-src=\"\/assets\/media\/07-biomasa.jpg\" class=\" lazyload\"><\/div>\r\n\r\n<div class=\"col-md-6\">\r\n<h4>Alcoholic fermentation<\/h4>\r\n\r\n<p>This process is used to obtain BIOETHANOL, which can be used as liquid fuel.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>It is produced by the action of micro-organisms such as yeast and fungi on products that contain fermentable sugars, such as sugar beet, barley and sugar cane. This produces BIOETHANOL, which can be used as a liquid fuel (bio-fuel) and can replace petroleum derivatives for transport.<\/p>\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n<div class=\"col-md-6\">\u00a0<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n<div class=\"row\">\r\n<div class=\"col-md-8 m-auto\">\r\n<div class=\"module-title text-center\">\r\n<h2 class=\"sidelines\" style=\"line-height: normal\"><span>Chemical processes<\/span><\/h2>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n<div class=\"row m-t-40\">\r\n<div class=\"col-md-12 text-center\"><img alt=\"\" data-src=\"\/assets\/media\/08-biomasa.jpg\" class=\" lazyload\"><\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n<div class=\"row m-t-40\">\r\n<div class=\"col-md-12\">\r\n<p>There are various different chemical processes, but the most important is the obtention of bio-diesel, which can be used to replace the conventional fuel in diesel engines.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>It is obtained through the chemical reaction of vegetable oils with methanol.
