The Phyrene project aims to support the development, consolidation and strengthening of the hydrogen value chain in the territories of the Pyrenees. Through cross-border collaboration between companies, institutions and researchers from Andorra, Spain and France, this project seeks to promote the energy transition, positioning the Pyrenean space as a European pole of reference in the production and use of green hydrogen. Among its main lines are the strengthening of infrastructure connections, decarbonisation of heavy transport and the formation of specialized human capital in the sector.
The Basque Energy Agency (EVE) plays a key role in Phyrene, contributing to the multisectoral analysis of opportunities and challenges. Among our activities are the realization of a diagnosis of the training needs to align the training of the workforce with the objectives of the sector, as well as the analysis of the potential of the territory to become a nucleus of hydrogen production and transport. Our work also includes the drive for sustainable solutions for transport and logistics, reaffirming our commitment to a clean and efficient energy transition.
