  The 2030 Industry Plan of the Basque Government and the Energy Transition and Climate Change Act of the Basque Country establish the basic guidelines and the transformative projects on which the energy-industrial policy of the Basque Country will be based in the coming years. With the objective of decarbonizing the Basque economy by 2050, energy efficiency, the use of renewable resources, the penetration of new vectors such as hydrogen and CO2, and the availability of a robust and effective electricity network, are established as the fundamental pillars for the orderly development of the Basque energy future.

  According to the road map established by the Basque Government’s Industry Plan and its Transformative Projects, the electrification of industrial consumption is a priority factor for competitiveness, something in which electricity networks will have a fundamental role. However, this transformation is not always possible, which is why new energy vectors such as renewable hydrogen and decarbonised gases are required to gradually introduce more sustainable and efficient energies into these industries that are difficult to decouple from carbon. In this sense, the EVE promotes the reduction of fossil energy dependency, by increasing the percentage of renewable energy and supporting decarbonization projects in the industry.

Description

The Basque List of Clean Technologies contributes in an essential way tothe fulfillment of the objectives of energy-environmental planning in theBasque Country.

This unique instrument in Europe, improving the MIA EIA VAMIL scheme ofthe Dutch government, currently integrates 64 technologies. It is in theprocess of renewal and integral expansion to adapt it even more to theneeds of modernization of equipment of the business sector, provided thatthey represent a substantial improvement in energy efficiency anddecarbonization.

The fiscal reform of 2025 reinforced the commitment to the energy-environmental transition, establishing clearer guidelines and increasing to35% the tax deduction on the share of corporation tax for companies andorganizations that acquire a technology included in the List.

This day will show the objectives, scope and simplified operation of theBasque List of Clean Technologies to access a tax deduction in a simplifiedway, as well as the renewal and expansion process, currently underway.

The technical seminar is aimed at management teams of Basquecompanies, heads of financial institutions, tax advisers, managers andeconomists in general.
